Over 20,000 Completed Marble Restoration Projects
Everyone wants their marble floors looking clean and polished, because they look absolutely stunning when they are polished.
The problem with a natural stone, like marble, is that it is subject to the elements like any other natural material. To put it simply, your marble surfaces (whether floor, wall, or a countertop) will end up losing their sheen as time passes by. That’s why it’s important that you provide the care and maintenance that your marble surfaces need in order to keep looking sharp. This mainly consists of normal cleaning(wiping up spills and dirt); and either annual deep cleaning or a full restoration “re-polishing” every few years.
what is the best way to get your marble surfaces to glow again?
While DIY is an option for some cases; hiring a stone care expert is the best choice. Certain store bought cleaning and polishing solutions can actually cause irreparable damage to your marble surfaces(not too mention how it is difficult to sand, apply, and buff the marble polish evenly). When you hire the professionals at STONESHINE Restoration, to clean and polish your marble floors you can rest easy knowing that; natural stone care experts are using the highest quality tool, techniques, and materials to bring your marble back to life!
STONESHINE has been in the marble restoration business for almost 2 decades and as a result, we have acquired a ton of knowledge and expertise in the area. Restoring marble floors, counters, and more
Over the years, your marble surface will experience some wear and tear. However, all this can be fixed with our marble restoration process. Now, marble restoration isn’t just something you do in one shot(although we can finish most marble projects in less than 1 day). Here are the most relevant steps needed for restoring marble floors and surfaces. Keep in mind, that every marble restoration project is going to be unique, so not every job requires everyone of these steps.
The next step in the marble restoration process is honing. This step involves removing old polish, and a very very thin layer of the marble’s surface. To carry out the process, we use varying grades of diamond-encrusted sand paper. This exposes a fresh new layer of marble, and helps get rid of all that dullness that comes from etches, spots, and general wear and tear. If your marble surfaces are in decent shape, we might skip right to polishing.
Next up, we have professional marble polishing. Again, we use diamonds-encrusted sand paper to get the job done. We use courser or finer grades of sandpaper depending on the type of finish you want. We can polish your marble surfaces to a hi-gloss, semi-gloss, or matte finish. A hi-gloss finish allows your marble surfaces to enjoy an almost mirror-like appearance.
Finally, we complete the restoration by properly applying a marble sealer, to protect against future stains. We use a penetrating stone sealer that is made specifically to be used with marble. Penetrating sealers seap into your marble, filling it’s tiny pores. As a result, it is much harder for dirt and fluids to stain your stone. Plus, the colors will remain well-preserved for years to come.
Apart from these 3 keys steps, we carry out the following procedures all the time:
- Lippage Removal:
Lippage removal, also referred to as grinding, is usually the first step of the marble restoration process- if you have uneven tiles. It is done to ensure that your marble surfaces are leveled. What we do here is we simply grind away all the excess marble to create a flat and even surface.
- Marble Tile Repair:
Are your marble tiles chipped, cracked, or broken in any other way? No problem. STONESHINE can fix holes, cracks and chips of any kind in no time. We fix marble tiles and slabs as well.
- Stain Removal:
Natural stone surfaces can get stained from a variety of sources. Fortunately, STONESHINE can remove every type of stain. We use pH neutral solutions and deep cleaning techniques to remove stains. Once we’re done with cleaning and removing stains, we’ll even protect your marble surfaces with an impregnating sealer. Sealing helps ensure that your marble remains protected from dirt, grime, water and spills for years to come.
